Folding matters &…

Folding matters Previous Next You can see the catalog of project, including process of design and team members in link down below: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HChU9UGXawF2GoVno3W2_YZIlyMKnBlE/view?usp=sharing DALIZ The main idea came from “DALIZ” game board; the game which, players should reach to a flag in the center of the board and opponents should block their way with surfaces they have and the winner is the player who reaches the flag at first This light is an exclusive prototype form of user interaction with home furniture. Dynamic boards floating beneath the valleys of the platform while glowing on them add a feature of personal customization to the whole design. Bookan

Bookan residential tower is a 10 story tower located in northern part of Tehran with an amazing view to the city and mountains, each of its 430 square meter units has an intended 360-degree view to whole city of Tehran.Considering the location and expectation of future residents, we were seeking for an innovative solution to provide moments of traditional lifestyle of living in villas in this new vertical tower, i.e. try to maximizing the relation between inside and outside, having sufficient light and space for nurture greenery and letting sunlight permeates to the entire apartments. The idea which we developed for responding to all these demands, was to work with the notion of façade and its relation to mass and the way it defines the border between inside and outside. contrary to usual type of buildings,...

Digi-made

Getting familiar with fabrication technics Waffle TessellationAt first In this project we built a surface with Grasshopper using Expression command, the surface was based on an equation, every direction in our project such as X, Y, Z had a specific equation and range, then with paneling command we divided the surface into triangles, we scaled the triangles in smaller size and subtracted them from the previous triangles, these subtractions provided a pattern for us. The Main methods we used in this project were Tessellation, Triangulation and Paneling. The material used in the prototype was cardboard we cut the shapes that the project required also we hatched the places that we needed to fold them using laser machine. Previous Next Previous Next CastingIn this project we found a minimal surface called CLP using a plugin in Grasshopper, then it was turned in to...

Generative morphology; Shredder

Discrete in architecture is a new way of thinking about architecture design and tectonics that privileges the parts rather than the whole. It allows a different way of building and therefor a different way of thinking architectural design. With this new knowledge we can ultimate the process, reconfigure the parts and also achieve more flexibility that we didn’t have before. Discrete sampling is with statistical digital patterns. In this case we use lines of construction and optimized them to obtain the form that we have produce with two surfaces. a lowpoly was created between this two surfaces with a program in grasshopper which links construction points together. Then this form was smoothened with the Catmull operation. To procure the construction lines of the form we decided to create field around our generated mesh. This is...

Patternitecture

Our start point to create pattern was experiencing abilities of paper like cut and fold which would give us a variation of modules. Our component is made from joining of three same shaped low polies in three equal orientations sticking from end faces and create the volume-based component. From surface to volume, a new component could enhance its structure and stability, remaining low weight because of its inner space. Volume can grow from its faces and edges and generating rules and patterns, perform in different functions as a large-scale object with people can go through the crust (inner space) of a single volume, as an object like interior furniture or as pavilion the modules near each other can form as shelter like surface.Volume can grow from its faces and edges and generating rules and patterns, perform in...

Ferdowsi cultural center

Ferdowsi, one of the greatest was a Persian poet and the author of Shahnameh (“Book of Kings”), which is one of the world’s longest epic poems created by a single poet, and the national epic of Greater Iran. Ferdowsi is celebrated as one of the most influential figures of Persian literature and one of the greatest in the history of literature.Inspired from homogenous arched chambers in Iran’s traditional architecture we decided to create our multi programed spaces by using modular cross sections in this type of architecture. Using arches as cross-section and lofting them through each other gives us ability to have spaces independently and also their overlap creates in-between spaces which visitors can commute between different places. 00010203 Previous Next Previous Next Previous Next Co-operation with:

Piscina mirabilis; reuse Italy

Walking through Roman reservoir parallel walls supported on columns and pierced by arches defines an equal dimension space, the directionality of the arched walls operates in counterpoint to the framed vistas across the grain of the space. Complex parallax effects are generated as the viewer moves throughout the field of pillars. As you move you can feel this repetitive sequence of looking like perspective, non-directional space like a serial order of one thing after another. Peering down from above, investigating from below the result is that the one structure that stood at right angles to the horizon was destroyed. Previous Next The idea of project is that how we can set different rules in this grid of pillars, somehow folding this homogeneous space into itself, so we tried to change angle of grid oriented to the span of...

eVolo 2019, Neo INSTEX

Day by day people of Iran feel pressure of economical sanctions on their lives, economy turns to be weaker and citizens lose their purchasing power more than ever after US declared withdrawal from nuclear deal and has imposed sanctions against Iran.Part of the sanctions banns most of countries to trade with Iran and also prohibits SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) network by not giving credit for financial institutions in Iran so that companies in neither side of world nor in Iran would not be able to trade with each other so Iranians can hardly have access to world markets. In the other hand European Union tries to invent new channel for supporting trade with Iran called INSTEX (instrument in support of trade exchanges) unfortunately none of European countries seemed to be able to locate...

Airport, Design 3

Assemblage that shows diagram of project, how spaces are connected to each other by ramps. Maybe we can describe behavior of airports as junction boxes and we can also refer to it from two scales, larger scale considering airport as box and planes as wires that come out of box and transfer people to different places and smaller scale which the terminal acts as a hybrid box and gates that are derived from the box and emphasizes on the movement. The idea was that how we could revers this diagram, like bringing the gates inside the space of terminal and solve the relations inside of the box.Getting inspired from the assemblage from the accesses point which was somehow knitting the relations between the arrival and departure and the public space.  Previous Next
