Discrete in architecture is a new way of thinking about architecture design and tectonics that privileges the parts rather than the whole. It allows a different way of building and therefor a different way of thinking architectural design. With this new knowledge we can ultimate the process, reconfigure the parts and also achieve more flexibility that we didn’t have before. Discrete sampling is with statistical digital patterns. In this case we use lines of construction and optimized them to obtain the form that we have produce with two surfaces. a lowpoly was created between this two surfaces with a program in grasshopper which links construction points together. Then this form was smoothened with the Catmull operation. To procure the construction lines of the form we decided to create field around our generated mesh. This is similar to what it happens when you see a magnetic field.
To create fields, we need to extract points from the mesh which act as starting points and walk on faces of mesh and in order to draw line on mesh: like a representation of mesh based on lines instead.
As project goal was to create field around our generated mesh which made from two surfaces that also quad and join of surfaces, they must be same topological, mesh is created from parameter based on upper and blow surfaces.
The thing that happen in project is similar to what happens when you near magnetic bar to iron fillings and magnetic field starts to form the filings.
To create fields, we need to extract points from the mesh which act as starting points and walk on faces of mesh and in order to draw line on mesh: like a representation of mesh based on lines instead of surface. We believe that this result is destinated to be 3Dprinted.
